Betting on the LSU Tigers (-3.0)
Record: 7-2 Overall / 5-1 Conference
Jayden Daniels continues to look like the real deal. Against ‘Bama, Daniels passed for 182 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 23/32 completions and also led the Tigers on the ground by burning rubber for 95 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. If the dual-threat quarterback can do that against Alabama’s stout defense, he definitely can hurt Arkansas, which just got dinged for three passing touchdowns by Liberty. And there is also LSU’s defense that somehow found a way to keep Alabama touchdown-less from the first to the third quarter.
LSU is 3-0 against the spread in its last three games.
Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks (+3.0)
Record: 5-4 Overall / 2-3 Conference
Just when it looked like Arkansas was over its three-game losing skid to the Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs last September to October by following that slide with wins over the BYU Cougars and the Auburn Tigers – both on the road – the Razorbacks ran into a brick wall in the form of Liberty. KJ Jefferson did not have his best stuff versus Liberty, tossing two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions while completing 23/37 passes for 284 yards. Nevertheless, the Razorbacks will be playing at home against the red-hot LSU, which could be viewed as a prime candidate to step on a trap in Week 11. Plus, Arkansas is mean on the ground, entering Week 10 with an average of 251.3 rushing yards per game.
Arkansas is 2-1 against the spread in its last three games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
LSU wins, 33-30.
