Athlon’s Rob Doster wants to improve his W-L card. He upped it into 14-6 this week from the previous week’s 12-8. For Week 8, he made safe picks again and chose the favorites, with the exception of Colorado Buffaloes going over the Stanford Cardinal on the road. It’s probably the right choice since the Buffaloes are on fire right now, scoring 40 or more points in three of their past four games.

Churchill knows it’s business time for every team and picked all favorites to go home with a W. He noted, though, that Nebraska is always susceptible of giving up big plays, which Purdue QB David Blough can likely exploit, who’s fresh off a 458-yard, five passing-TD performance.
The Utes will also be in for a great battle, with the Bruins finally set to get quarterback and leader Josh Rosen back from a leg injury.

Meyer and the WhatIfSports Simulator, just like most weeks, got a handful of games right. This past week, they nailed the Ohio State-Wisconsin game, as they predicted a 28-23 score and it ended in 30-23, in favor of the Buckeyes.
An interesting stat from the simulator for Week 8 is the Texas A&M-Alabama matchup. While most experts, including Rob Doster and Jason Churchill (two experts that are featured in this piece), predicted a comfortable win for ‘Bama, WhatIfSports’s forecast said that ‘Bama will win by one or two, and only won 56 percent of the simulations.
As for the upset, it’s not the most exciting pick of all-time, but it’s still worth a look, as Akron (+2) is projected to win over Ball State, winning 57 percent of the simulations – the average score is 30.9-29.1.
