MONEYLINE: Patriots – 22%; Falcons – 78%
The Falcons have been the overwhelmingly popular bet in terms of the moneyline as nearly four out of every five bets are currently on the Falcons. Their significant edge on the moneyline may be due to more casual bettors wagering on the underdogs, since they have the higher odds, which would mean a bigger payout.
POINT SPREAD: Patriots – 62%; Falcons – 38%
On the other side, the Patriots remain the popular pick with spread betting. This shouldn’t be all too surprising since anyone willing to wager on a Pats win will get a bit more value by betting on the spread as opposed to the moneyline. The price for taking the Pats at -3 is now -115.
OVER/UNDER: Under 53%; Over 47%
The over/under betting is easily the most even of the three at the moment, with the under having the slight edge at 53 percent. Those betting on the under are likely seeing the historically high Super Bowl total of 59.0 and don’t believe it can reach that mark. Super Bowls are traditionally cagey affairs, which is the reason why the total has topped 59 just three times in the last 20 years.
