Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (+1)

Regular Season Record: 0-2

The Falcons are still winless. They lost to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 at home, 27-26, then again to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 on the road, 31-27. If anything, they weren’t blown out in both contests. Against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Falcons were down at one point by as many as 25 points but fought back to make the final score look more competitive. The Falcons have a dual-threat quarterback in Marcus Mariota and an emerging rookie in Drake London, who just had 86 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight receptions and 12 targets versus the Rams. Atlanta’s offense just looks livelier than the Seahawks’ attack.

The Over is 8-1 in the Falcons’ last nine Week 3 games.

Betting on the Atlanta Falcons

Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (-1)

Regular Season Record: 1-1

Whatever happens, at least the Seahawks won’t finish the season winless. Seattle is not looking good after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 on the road, 27-7. The Seahawks beat Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in Week 1 at home, 17-16, but through two games, it’s clear that their offense is going to have problems. But it’s probably going to take stronger teams than the Falcons to expose Seattle’s shortcomings on offense. Geno Smith did not throw for a touchdown and got intercepted in the 49ers game but he completed 24-of-30 passes. Tyler Lockett also posted 107 receiving yards on nine catches and 11 targets.

The Seahawks are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games.

Bet on the Seattle Seahawks

Writer’s Prediction

The Falcons win, 24-17.
