Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 253 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 18/30 completions against Carolina. That’s an encouraging sight for the 49ers going into Week 6. Another standout player for the team in that game was running back Jeff Wilson Jr., who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. That means he averaged 7.1 yards per carry. But it’s San Francisco’s defense that could be more terrifying to the Falcons. The Niners sacked Carolina quarterbacks for a total of six times and held the Panthers to just 3/15 on third downs.
The 49ers are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games overall.
Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (+6.0)
Regular Season Record: 2-3
The Falcons picked up another loss this season in the Tampa Bay game, but they were competitive in that contest. They made it interesting in the fourth quarter where they put up 15 unanswered points. Atlanta has three losses this season, but they have yet to be blown out, which says a lot about why this is a team that is always a landmine waiting to get stepped on by opponents who are favored to win. In fact, the Falcons have covered the spread in all of their five games to date this season.
The Over is also 4-2 in the Falcons’ last six games overall, dating back to 2021.
