Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (+7.5)
Regular Season Record: 5-9
The Falcons lost to the New Orleans Saints on the road last Sunday in Week 15, 21-18, to slide down to 5-9. Rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder was horrible in his first career NFL start, as he went just 13/26 for 97 yards passing against the Saints. He did not have a passing touchdown but also avoided getting picked. However, he was sacked four times for a loss of eight yards. Atlanta will just have to wait for Ridder to start getting stable under center, but he should look better in Week 16 against the Ravens after finally logging a start under his belt in the pros. He can get help from a fellow rookie in running back Tyler Allgeier who rushed 17 times for a touchdown and 139 yards against New Orleans.
The Under is 3-0 in the Falcons’ last three games.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (-7.5)
Regular Season Record: 9-5
The Ravens are hoping that quarterback Lamar Jackson will be back in action for Week 16’s game against the Falcons. Jackson missed Baltimore’s 13-3 road loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 due to a knee injury. The Ravens, however, should still be good enough to take down a lowly Atlanta team whether they have Jackson back or not on Saturday. They have a rushing attack that can punish the Falcons’ run defense that is bottom-10 in the NFL in terms of rushing yards allowed per game. Conversely, Baltimore is second in the NFL with 164.7 rushing yards per outing.
The Ravens are 4-0 straight-up in their last four games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
The Ravens win, 29-20.
