Regular Season Record: 8-4
The Ravens are not expecting Lamar Jackson to play in Week 14 after suffering an injury in Week 13’s 10-9 home win over the Denver Broncos. The expectation right now is that Tyler Huntley is going to take over as the temporary starter under center for the Ravens, who are 12th in the NFL with 23.8 points per game and 14th with 359.2 total yards per contest. While Huntley isn’t on the same level as Jackson, he is a dual-threat quarterback who can get the job done with his legs, and that should help maintain the lethal form of Baltimore on the ground. The Ravens are averaging close to 160 rushing yards per game. Huntley also will still have tight end Mark Andrews to throw at downfield, and we mentioned that because apart from Andrews being an elite TE, the Steelers are also in the bottom half of the league in yards allowed per game to tight ends.
The Under is 7-2 in the Ravens’ last nine games overall.
Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.0)
Regular Season Record: 5-7
The Steelers are gaining momentum just as rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett is continuing to become more and more confident under center. Pittsburgh is now on a two-game win streak after beating the Atlanta Falcons on the road last Sunday, 19-16. Before that, the Steelers defeated the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, 27-14. As those scores suggest, the Steelers’ defense has also been doing a solid job on the field. With Huntley expected to start for the Ravens instead of Jackson, Pittsburgh can feel as though it’s been given a huge bonus for this upcoming contest. Baltimore’s attack has a much lower floor and ceiling with Huntley, and that’s a plus for the Steelers, who are ninth in the league with 1.4 takeaways per outing.
The Steelers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games versus the Ravens.
Writer’s Prediction
The Ravens win, 23-20.
