Betting on the New York Mets (11-15)
Jay Bruce’s hot batting continued on Tuesday night against Atlanta, as he finished with six RBIs and a pair of dingers. The only thing missing was a victory for the Mets, who, unfortunately, lost the match, 7-9, marking their second loss in three games.
New York needs Bruce to stay locked-in tonight at the plate, which, hopefully, can result to a win. He’s hitting .333 with three home runs, four doubles and eight runs batted-in.
On the mound, the Mets will be headlined by Jacob deGrom (1-1, 2.84 ERA), who has fanned a total of 35 batters in his previous three starts. They only went 1-2 during that stretch, however.
Betting on the Atlanta Braves (11-14)
The Braves have been lighting it up at the plate lately. They scored nine runs in Tuesday’s win over the Mets, improving Atlanta’s scoring averaging to 7.5 runs in its last seven games.
Freddie Freeman and Ender Inciarte have efficiently led the offense, each batting no lower than .370 with four homers and 15 RBIs combined in that same stretch. Both also bring in a seven-game hitting streak into this bout.
All of that is good news to Bartolo Colon (1-2, 5.58 ERA), who aims to rebound from a rough performance in his previous start. He gave up 10 hits and six runs last Friday against Milwaukee. Colon faced the Mets in his first start this season on April 5, during which he threw six innings of two-hit ball, including one homer, and struck out six.
Writer’s Prediction
Mets (-153) win it, 6-3.
