San Francisco 49ers vs Chicago Bears Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 13 2017

The San Francisco 49ers are giving Jimmy Garoppolo his first start against the Chicago Bears in Week 13.  Will this become a permanent picture through to the end of the season? On the road so far in 2017, the 49ers are 0-5 straight up yet 3-2 against the spread. On the other side of the field, you’ve got the Chicago Bears, who are currently 2-4 straight up and 4-1-1 against the spread. With Garoppolo starting, anything can happen at Soldier Field. What do you think will unfold?

TV Broadcast: CBS

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (1-10)

Point Spread: (+4)

The Denver Broncos season has been a disappointment, and a lot of that has to do with the play of the offense, especially the quarterback play. After winning three of the first four games of the season, they come into this game having lost six straight, and if things don’t improve there might be some coaching changes made at the end of the season.

The Broncos have tried three quarterbacks this year, and none of them have had much success. Paxton Lynch started the last game but suffered an ankle injury, so they will turn back to Trevor Siemian who actually played well towards the end of the game. He threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns in less than a half.

To win this game it’s going to come down to the offensive side of the ball. The Dolphins don’t have a great offense, and the Broncos defense should be able to keep them in check. They won’t win though unless the offense does enough to score at least 20 points probably. They need to get going early, and hopefully they can lead that momentum to a win.

Betting on the Chicago Bears(3-8)

Point Spread: (-4)

The Chicago Bears were not expected to win more than four games (in my opinion) this year. Currently sitting at 3-8, Chicago’s season is over just like the 49ers. One of the positives the team can pull from this year, is getting Trubisky’s feet wet as a NFL starter. Last week the Bears rookie was 17 of 33 for 147 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions in a blowout road loss to Philadelphia, 31-3.

Through seven NFL starts, Trubisky has passed has a 52.8 completion percentage, 1135 yards passing, four touchdowns and four interceptions. Trubisky could have a coming out party at home this week. The 49ers have a secondary that is allowing over 255 yards passing per game this season. On the defensive side, the Bears are giving up 23 points and allowing 345 yards per game this year.

Look for the Bears to try and apply pressure against Beathard (questionable) or Garoppolo this week. If successful doing so, the Bears will get the win at home.

Writer’s Prediction

This is a meaning less game for both teams. San Francisco is playing for pride and so is Chicago this week. If Jimmy Garoppolo starts this week, this can mark the start of an era for the young quarterback in San Francisco. The Bears will struggle preparing for both quarterbacks. Take the 49ers to cover on the road. Pick: 49ers (+3)
