Betting on the Clemson Tigers – March Madness 2018

The Tigers showed no mercy on Auburn on Sunday, despite the fact that it was Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl’s birthday. Clemson took Auburn to the woodshed, 84-53, with Marcquise Reed and Gabe DeVoe doing most of the work on offense. Auburn was a bit unsure how it would do on offense minus Donte Grantham, who they lost to an injury way before the postseason kicked in, but Reed and DeVoe have done a fine job of supplying most of the scoring and complementing the team’s stellar defense. The duo combined for 38 points against Auburn and held held Pearl’s boys to only 25.8 percent shooting from the floor. Clemson also limited New Mexico State to just 38.7 percent shooting in a 79-68 win in the first round. Kansas is going to be a handful for Clemson, but the Jayhawks have had trouble scoring in losses before to solid defensive teams like Baylor and Texas Tech.

Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks – March Madness 2018

The one-seed in this tournament is a fast dying breed, but Kansas is still alive after staving off a gallant stand from Seton Hall in an 83-79 win in the second round. Having said that, the Jayhawks should be worried at how they were dominated in the paint in that game with Seton Hall big man Angel Delgado morphing into a beast to score 24 points and grab 23 rebounds (nine on the offensive glass). Clemson does not have force like Delgado in the middle, however, and even if someone from the Tigers stepped up, Udoka Azubuike will be there to neutralize him.  The Jayhawks’ backcourt meanwhile should continue to be the main driving force of the team. Devonte Graham (17.4 PPG) scored just eight points against Seton Hall, while Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (15.0 PPG) had 16. Kansas overcame Graham’s salty offensive night, however, as Malik Newman put up 28 points for the Jayhawks, who had nine three-pointers in the win.
