Betting on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (odds)

Record: 10-19 Overall/2-16 Conference

Notre Dame will play the Pittsburgh Panthers at home this Wednesday for their final game of the season in South Bend. After that, the Fighting Irish will turn all their attention to the meeting with the Clemson Tigers. This season has been far from ideal for the Fighting Irish, who, unless they miraculously win the ACC tournament, are not going to make it to the Big Dance. Even though they have lost a bunch of games this season, especially in ACC play, the Fighting Irish could have scored more wins if they had just a little more luck. Notre Dame had close, single-digit losses to the likes of the NC State Wolfpack, Duke Blue Devils, Virginia Cavaliers, and North Carolina Tar Heels. This Fighting Irish squad can be deceptively dangerous for any team.

Notre Dame is 4-2 against the spread in its last six road games.

Betting on the Clemson Tigers (odds)

Record: 21-9 Overall/13-6 Conference

Clemson is coming off a 64-57 road loss to the Cavaliers last Tuesday. Prior to that, the Tigers won back-to-back games against the Syracuse Orange and the Wolfpack, both by double-digit margins. As of this writing, Clemson is second in the ACC with just 99.4 points allowed per 100 possessions adjusted and No. 1 in defensive effective field goal percentage (47.1 eFG%). The Tigers are also shooting the best clip inside the arc with a 55.4 2FG% in conference play.

Clemson is 6-3-1 against the spread in its last 10 games as the home team.

Writer’s Prediction

Clemson wins, 75-69.
