Betting on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (odds)

Record: 10-15 Overall/2-12 Conference

The Fighting Irish are coming off a 93-87 loss at home at the hands of the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday. They have only won a single game in their last eight outings and that lone victory was against the lowly Louisville Cardinals at home on Jan. 28. Defense has been a major problem this season for Notre Dame, as it is 15th in the ACC in terms of adjusted defensive efficiency and 15th as well in opponents’ effective field goal percentage. One thing about the Fighting Irish is that they don’t turn the ball over a lot, Their ball security is arguably the best in the nation as they are tops in turnover rate.

The Over is 7-1-2 in Notre Dame’s last 10 games.

Betting on the Duke Blue Devils (odds)

Record: 17-8 Overall/8-6 Conference

The losses keep on piling for Duke, which just picked up another defeat on Saturday, falling prey to the Virginia Cavaliers on the road, 69-62, via overtime. The Blue Devils are now 0-2 straight up in their last two games. Glaringly missing for Duke in the Virginia game was the production of big man Kyle Filipowski, who entered the game leading his team with 14.8 points per outing but only finished with zero points on 0/6 shooting versus the Hoos. But with Notre Dame’s bad defense coming up, Filipowski should be able to get back at least close to his usual form.

The Under is 6-4 in Duke’s last 10 games.

Writer’s Prediction

Duke wins, 80-65.
