Betting on the NC State Wolfpack (ODDS)
Record: 22-8 Overall/12-7 Conference
The Wolfpack are coming off an 86-71 loss last Saturday to the Clemson Tigers. That was an especially bitter defeat for NC State because it happened in the Wolfpack’s last home game of the season in Raleigh. Nevertheless, NC State should remain a big threat to Duke this Tuesday. After all, the Wolfpack embarrassed the Blue Devils last January in an 84-60 home win. Terquavion Smith had his way in that game, scoring 24 points with four 3-pointers on eight attempts from deep. Jarkel Joiner chipped in 21 points more with five 3-pointers on 10 attempts from behind the arc in that contest. Those two players are going to play huge roles again this time for NC State, which entered the Clemson game ranked 22nd in the nation with 78.7 points per game.
NC State is 3-2 against the spread in its last five games.
Betting on the Duke Blue Devils (ODDS)
Record: 21-8 Overall/12-6 Conference
Duke could still be smoking when it hits the floor in Durham this Tuesday. The Blue Devils are on a hot stretch, having won each of their last four outings, including last Saturday’s 81-65 victory at home over the Virginia Tech Hokies. In that game, Duke posted an incredible 63.2 eFG%. It appears that the Blue Devils have it going offensively. They have recorded an effective field goal percentage of 63% or better in two of their last three games. The Blue Devils also own a pretty good interior defense, as evidenced by their 46.8 defensive 2P%, entering the Virginia Tech game.
Duke is 2-2 against the spread in its last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Duke wins, 76-70.
