Betting on the Pittsburgh Panthers (odds)
Record: 11-5 Overall/4-1 Conference
Pittsburgh will look to get back to its winning ways. The Panthers were on a five-game winning streak when they got stopped last Saturday by the Clemson Tigers in a 75-74 home loss. Pittsburgh now hits the road in search of a victory. It’s a good sign for the Panthers that they have not lost so far this season in true road games, going 3-0 straight up in those contests, including an 84-82 win last December at JMA Wireless Dome against the Syracuse Orange. There’s nothing especially outstanding that Pittsburgh does on the court, but it’s a team that clearly can take down good to great programs. The Panthers have wins already this season against the likes of the NC State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Virginia Cavaliers.
Pittsburgh is 9-1 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.
Betting on the Duke Blue Devils (odds)
Record: 12-4 Overall/3-2 Conference
The Blue Devils are not having the type of season their supporters have gotten used to in the past under Mike Krzyzewski, but they are still a very good team. After getting blasted by the NC State Wolfpack on Jan. 4, Duke responded with a 65-64 win at home last Saturday. It’s far from a satisfying win for Duke but it still got the Blue Devils on track. Kyle Filipowski and Jeremy Roach provide an inside-outside attack for Duke, which is 35th in the nation with 111.6 points per 100 possessions. They lead the Blue Devils with 13.9 and 11.9 points, respectively.
Duke is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
Duke wins, 75-67.
