On the road this season, the Clippers are currently 19-19 straight up (SU) and 23-15 against the spread (ATS) while the Trail Blazers are 25-13 SU and 20-16-2 ATS (at press).

Betting on the LA Clippers (39-34)
The Clippers are making a last push for a playoff spot in the playoffs, so in terms of importance, LA has a more riding on this game than the Blazers do. The Clippers won the first meeting of these two teams this season, 104-103, in Portland on Oct. 26, though it was Blake Griffin that led them with 25 points. Griffin is now a Detroit Piston, so the Clippers will have to look for the likes of Tobias Harris and Lou Williams for most of the offensive production. Harris is averaging 20.2 points since the All-Star break, while Williams is putting up 22.2 so far in the second half of the season. During the Clippers’ 122-109 home loss to Portland on Mar. 18, Williams came off the bench and fired 30 points. Williams is going to be a constant source of points for the Clippers, but he will also need help from the likes of Harris and Austin Rivers. The Clippers are eighth in the league with 109.6 points per game.
Betting on the Portland Trail Blazers (45-28)
The Blazers don’t have the personnel problem the Clippers have plus Portland has a more balanced game. The Blazers are averaging 106.0 points per game so far this season and allow only 103.2 points. The tandem of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum is much more dynamic than any guard combination of the Clippers, while Jusuf Nurkic is decent enough to keep DeAndre Jordan in check. In three games against LA, Lillard and McCollum have averaged 25.3 and 20.0 points respectively. Nurkic, meanwhile, has posted 14.3 points and 13.3 rebounds. In the last meeting with the Clippers, Portland shot 50 percent from the field and had 47 rebounds as against LA’s 38. They also hit 14 threes to improve their average of 13/.7 three-pointers in the regular-season series with LA.
The Blazers are 8-2 SU and 8-1- ATS in their last 10 games at Moda Center.
Writer’s Prediction:
Portland wins, 111-103.
