Coming off a 108-102 loss at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder last Saturday, the Rockets will fly to Tinseltown for a date with the Lakers. A Lakers game seems to be a nice pick-me-up contest for Houston, which is 8-2 SU in its last 10 meetings with LA. James Harden is going to spearhead the Rockets’ attack this Tuesday, of course, but there’s always the danger of Houston opting to just rest him since there is nothing on the line for the Rockets here. If he plays, then that’s danger for the Lakers, as the bearded MVP candidate has averaged 30.6 games in this matchup this season to go with 8.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds. Let’s not forget about Chris Paul. Paul had 28 points and 10 assists during a 148-142 double-overtime win at home over the Lakers on Dec. 31. The Rockets are averaging 112.8 points and allows 104.0 points per game this season.

The Lakers are not going to the playoffs, but they don’t to lose their last home game of the season either, which is something they will look to avoid against the Rockets. The Lakers, who are coming off a 112-97 home loss to the Utah Jazz on Sunday, are 1-4 SU in their last five home games and 5-5 SU in their last 10 as the home team. Lakers big man Julius Randle will be among the players to watch for Los Angeles. Randle put up a huge double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds in the aforementioned December loss to Houston. Also going off in that game was  Josh Hart, who had 26 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field. Speaking of Hart, the rookie out of Villanova lit up the scoreboard against the Jazz, coming away with 25 points opposite Utah’s elite defense. Hart might have to do that much on offense again with Kyle Kuzma currently deemed day-to-day with an ankle issue. Kuzma sat out the Jazz game, and we’re uncertain if he’ll play this Tuesday.

Writer’s Prediction:

Houston wins, 115-103.
