Betting on the Los Angeles Lakers (+4.0)

Regular Season Record: 43-39

LeBron James and the Lakers are itching to finish off the series. It appears that the Lakers have broken the Grizzlies, who are now on the ropes. The four-time MVP had an incredible performance in Game 4’s 117-111 overtime win at home, with LeBron scoring 22 points to go with 20 rebounds, while also dishing out seven dimes. But the Lakers are more than just about James. His supporting cast is also starting to show up, including D’Angelo Russell who drilled crucial baskets in Game 4. That could be the start of Russell turning things around after a slow start to the postseason. The Lakers, who are averaging 112.3 points in the first round, are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus a team with a winning record.

Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies (-4.0)

Regular Season Record: 51-31

It’s time to find out what the Grizzlies are really made of. With their backs against the wall and without any room for a loss, Memphis will have to dig deep and recapture that form that made the Grizzlies one of the most dangerous teams during the regular season. Ja Morant, despite a hurting hand, is very much capable of producing a big game for his team just like he did in Game 3 when he exploded for 45 points, albeit in a loss. Desmond Bane is also coming off a 36-point explosion in Game 4. The Grizzlies, who are putting up 106.8 points in the playoffs, are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games versus Los Angeles.

Writer’s Prediction

The Grizzlies win, 115-112.
