Betting on the Golden State Warriors (+1)

The Warriors arguably lost Game 4 more than Houston won it. Usually, the defending champions win when they hold double-digit wins in the fourth quarter, but that obviously was not the case on Tuesday, as they let a victory slip away. The Warriors’ offense went anemic in the fourth, while they were not able to stop Houston from overpowering their defense with the Rockets winning the scoring battle in the final period, 25-12. In the game, the Warriors shot just 39.3 percent from the field. The series is still just at 2-2 so the Warriors have no reason to push the panic button. Andre Iguodala missed Game 4 with a hurting knee but could return for Game 5. His versatility was missed on Tuesday.

While the Warriors shot the ball badly in the last game, it’s very rare for them to be that atrocious from the field two games in a row, so also expect them to do better this Thursday in Houston, where they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 visits there.

Betting on the Houston Rockets (-1)

Now that’s how a team should bounce back following a 41-point mauling. Coming off a massacre in Game 3, the Rockets played with a little more sense of urgency with Chris Paul and James Harden showing why they’re arguably the best tandem in the league. Paul scored 27 points while Harden led the team with 30 markers. Apart from the pair’s scoring production, the Rockets were able to get plenty of points from the free throw line. They went 23-for-27 from the foul line compared to 13-for-14 by the Warriors. The Rockets will have to continue playing the isolation game where Paul and Harden are able to dissect Golden State’s defense that is once again looking vulnerable.

The Rockets are 4-3 ATS in their last seven home games.

Writer’s Prediction:

Houston wins, 105-102.
