Betting on the Buffalo Bills (0-2)

This is turning out to be a very long season for the Bills, who suffered another loss on Sunday at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers at home, 31-20. Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen flashed some flicker of brilliance in his first career start, going 18 of 33 for 245 yards and a touchdown. He had two interceptions, but he was also under constant pressure from LA’s QB-thirsty pass rush. Allen was sacked five times for a loss of 36 yards. Buffalo’s offensive line hasn’t been dependable, as evidenced by the 11 sacks it has allowed in the last two games. It’s the most allowed by a team this season so far. Buffalo’s seemingly inept offensive line has also put a cap on the team’s rushing production. After rushing for only 22 yards in Week’s loss to Baltimore, Bills star running back LeSean McCoy coughed up only 39 rushing yards on nine carries against the Chargers.

Buffalo is 3-2 ATS in its last five road games.

Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (1-0-1)

NFL kickers are probably the most hated type by football fantasy owners and fans in Week 2, and among those that got the most ire was Vikings kicker Daniel Carson, who missed two field goal attempts in overtime against the Green Bay Packers. In the end, the Viking had to settle with a 29-29 tie. If anything, the Vikings should still feel lucky that running back Dalvin Cook’s hamstring injury was only a minor one. Cook injured his hamstring in overtime and did not return in the game, though, he later said suggested after the contest that it’s not something that should keep him out in the next game. That being said, his status is worth monitoring. If he gets ruled out for the Bills game, Minnesota will likely give most of the rushing workload to Latavius Murray. Quarterback Kirk Cousins, who had 425 passing yards and four touchdowns with an interception, looks primed to dissect Buffalo’s defense that’s allowing 39.0 points per game this season.

The Vikings are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Minnesota wins, 37-17.
