Oakland Raiders vs Cincinnati Bengals Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview – NFL Week 15 – December 16 2018

The Oakland Raiders are out of playoff contention, so winning games this late in the season actually hurts that is hoping for a high draft pick next year more than it benefits them. That said, they just beat a Super Bowl contender in the form of the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, so you never know. The Bengals, meanwhile, are still in the playoff hunt, albeit with a very slim chance to catch the boat to the postseason. Their odds to win the AFC title is currently set at +100,000. Going into this game, the sportsbook likes the home team by just a field goal, which has bettors taking interest on the odds of a cover here.

Betting on the Oakland Raiders (3-10)

Most people thought that the Raiders were not going to win any more games after defeating the equally inept Arizona Cardinals back in Week 11, Jon Gruden’s squad did in fact emerged victorious for at least one time since then. Last Sunday, the Raiders scored a huge 24-21 upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, thanks in large part to Derek Carr’s performance. The Raiders’ quarterback went 25 of 34 for 322 passing yards and two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Carr is actually playing peak football of late, having passed for eight touchdowns against zero interceptions in the Raiders’ last four games. There’s a chance he could put up his best performance of the season this coming weekend, given the defensive struggles of the Bengals, who are 29th in the league against the pass with 273.8 passing yards allowed per game.

The under is 2-0 in the Raiders’ last two road games.

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (5-8)

The Bengals failed to stop their losing skid last Sunday, when they absorbed a 26-21 loss from the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. With that, Cincy has now gone winless over its last five games. Nevertheless, they looked more competitive in the Chargers game, with quarterback Jeff Driskel completing 18 of 27 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown and no interceptions. Much of the Bengals’ life on offense now depends on how well running back Joe Mixon does on the field. With star wide receiver A.J. Green and quarterback Andy Dalton both done for the season, the Bengals will rely on their backfield for yard and scoring production for likely the rest of the regular season. Against the Chargers, Mixon racked up 144 rushing yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. He also had 27 receiving yards on five receptions. He could make another killing on the field this Sunday, as the Raiders are just 31st in the league against the run with 144.5 rushing yards allowed per game.

The Bengals are 2-2 ATS in their last four home games.

Writer’s Prediction
