It’s time to take the Oakland Raiders’ chances to make the playoffs seriously, as they are just half a game behind the Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC West. They get a break this weekend, too, as they will be facing a going-nowhere Cincinnati Bengals at home. But will the Bengals stun everyone with a win? The Bengals and the Raiders are +300000 and +6600 to win Super Bowl 54, respectively.

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (0-9)
What the Bengals suffered at the hands of Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens was nearly unwatchable, as they got totally wrecked in a 49-13 loss at home. Rookie quarterback Ryan Finley made the first start of his pro career and played like it, passing for 167 yards and a touchdown with an interception on just 16-of-30 completions. We get it. The Bengals are tanking, but they still have notable talents on the team, capable of doing damage. Joe Mixon is an elite running back, who had 114 rushing yards on 30 carries against the Ravens, while Tyler Boyd and Auden Tate are still a respectable tandem in the passing game. Tyler Eifert can still flash some of his old brilliance from time to time. He had a touchdown reception and 20 receiving yards on two catches in the Baltimore game.
The Bengals are 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 road games.
Betting on the Oakland Raiders (5-4)
The Raiders continue their push for a playoff spot with a 26-24 home win over the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday. Derek Carr went 21 for 31 for 218 yards and a touchdown without an interception in the Chargers game, while Josh Jacobs had 71 rushing yards and a TD on 16 carries. However, it was Oakland’s defense that impressed the most, as they were unforgiving in making life hard for Philip Rivers. The Chargers’ quarterback was intercepted twice and got sacked five times for a loss of 38 yards. That kind of tenacious defense should have an easier time getting into the pocket of Cincinnati and punishing a rookie in Finley. Oakland is averaging 3.3 sacks over their last three games. On the flipside, the Raiders have one of the best pass protections in the league with just 12 sacks allowed on the season.
The Raiders are 3-0 ATS in their last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Raiders win, 28-17.
