Betting on the Green Bay Packers (11-3)

Even though the Packers are on a three-game unbeaten run, not a few are doubting the team’s chances to make a deep run in the playoffs. For one, they haven’t won their last three games as convincingly as what a supposedly Super Bowl contender would against teams like the New York Giants, Washington Redskins. In their last game, the Packers beat the Chicago Bears at home. The win over the Bears was more a product of Green Bay’s defense than its offense. Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was intercepted twice and was sacked thrice, while Chicago’s rushing attack only rushed for 3.6 yards per carry. Still, the Packers will go as far as where Rodgers take them, and against the Vikings, at least they had a preview of what the Bad Man can do opposite Minnesota. In Week 2’s 21-16 home win over the Vikings, Rodgers went 22 for 34 for 209 passing yards and two touchdowns without an interception, while running back Aaron Jones picked up 116 rushing yards and a TD on 23 carries.

The Packers are 6-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games. The under is 5-1 in their last six games.

Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (10-4)

The Vikings won their second game in a row last Sunday by beating the lights out of the Los Angeles Chargers on the road, 39-10. The Vikings simply didn’t show mercy for the Bolts. Minnesota’s defense was particularly menacing, as Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was sacked and intercepted for a total of six times. The Chargers’ rushing attack couldn’t so much against the Vikings, with Melvin Gordon and company coming up with only 62 rushing yards on 19 carries. Speaking of which, the Vikings’ ground game could be taking a hit in the rematch against the Packers with no. 1 running back Dalvin Cook unlikely to play due to a shoulder injury. If that’s the case, the Vikings will be the no. 1 option on the ground for Minnesota. Boone led the team with 56 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win over the Chargers. He’ll also get help from Ameer Abdullah, especially if Alex Mattison remains out, too.

The Vikings are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. They have also not lost over their last six games in Minnesota.

Writer’s Prediction

The Packers win, 23-20.
