Finau nearly had the 2019 Charles Schwab Challenge title in the bag last year, when he finished just four strokes behind winner Kevin Na. Finau opened that tournament by firing a 64 in the first round but failed to keep it up in the latter two rounds. Finau isn’t a top-tier golfer, but he’s someone that should be on your radar. He was also second at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last February and had a T6 at the Farmers Insurance a month prior. His stock has dipped since with a T51 at the Genesis Invitational and a missed cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
DeChambeau was starting to discover his form when the golfing world was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. After a T5 at the Genesis Invitational last February, he had a runner-up finish at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship later that month. Then he followed that up with a fourth-place campaign at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last March. Assuming that DeChambeau has not developed significant rust during the extended pause, he should be a man to watch out for in Fort Worth. DeChambeau is first on the Tour in driving distance, fifth in scoring average, and eighth in sand save percentage.
Lowry has surprised people before. It wasn’t that long ago when he won the British Open in 2019. While he hasn’t made loud noises this season, that fact only feeds his potential to once again shock. In four starts this season, Lowry has yet to crack top 10, but he’s not missed a cut yet. His best finish this season was a T13 at the ZOZO Championship in October of last year.
