Betting Preview for the Kevin Holland vs.  Daniel Rodriguez Welterweight Bout on May 30, 2020

Where: UFC Apex, Las Vegas

When: Saturday, May 30, 2020

Odds: Kevin Holland (-240) vs. Daniel Rodriguez (+180

TV Broadcast: UFC Fight Pass

Betting on Kevin Holland (-240)

MMA Record: 17-5-0

The last time Holland was inside the octagon was on the 16th of May — of this year. Yes, you read that right. Holland is going to engage in his second fight in as many weeks, thanks to the quick work he did in the undercard of the UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris in which it took him just 39 seconds to score a knockout victory against Anthony Hernandez. It was the perfect way for Holland to reclaim MMA fans’ attention after he suffered a loss (submission) to Brendan Allen last October. Holland is a natural middleweight, but is sliding down to welterweight for this fight. That means Holland could find himself easily handling the power of Rodriguez. Among middleweights in the UFC, Holland is eighth in strikes landed per minute (4.02) and sixth in striking differential (1.23). Even better, he is second among active middleweight UFC fighters in significant strikes accuracy (60.2%).

Betting on  Daniel Rodriguez (+180)

MMA Record: 11-1-0

Rodriguez had a successful UFC debut, as he submitted Tim Means in the second round of their bout last February. Rodriguez is heading into his bout against Holland riding a wave of momentum. The Brazilian southpaw has not lost in over two years, a span in which he won seven times – four by way of knockouts, a couple by submission, and one by unanimous decision. With only one fight so far in the UFC, he’s a relative unknown among casual MMA fans, which largely explains his underdog status for this fight. However, given what we know about his recent record and the fact that he’s never been knocked out nor submitted before while also winning six times via KO and four through submissions, it’s fair to say that Rodriguez could be a dangerous fighter when he takes on Holland than what his betting odds suggest.
