The New York Giants are still in search of a win this season, as they have to score any under new head coach Joe Judge. A golden opportunity comes for the Giants this week when they host the also-struggling Washington Football Team at MetLife Stadium. Washington, on the other hand, is seeking to snap a four-game losing skid.

Betting on the Washington Football Team (+2.5)
Regular Season Record: 1-4
Washinton has decided to make a switch at quarterback — twice. First, they benched Dwayne Haskins for Kyle Allen. But when Allen got hurt in Washington’s 30-10 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday, the Football Team was forced to send Alex Smith to the field. While it was nice (and heart-stopping) to see Smith back on the field, Washington reportedly will be starting Allen again in Week 6’s meeting with the Giants. Allen left the LA game with just 74 passing yards (9/13) with zero touchdowns and interceptions, while Smith went 9-of-17 for only 37 passing yards without a TD or a pick thrown. Washington’s attack is not providing much to celebrate about for its fans, as it is averaging just 17.8 points per game, but there aren’t a lot of defenses in the NFL that can make a mediocre offense shine than the Giants. New York also has a penchant for throwing the ball away, as it’s averaging 1.8 turnovers per contest. That’s a good sign for Washington’s defense.
The over is 7-3 in Washington’s last 10 games overall.
Betting on the New York Giants (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 0-5
The Giants are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games against Washington, dating back to 2013.The Giants are still winless after suffering a heartbreaking 37-34 road loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. If anything, the Giants managed to score in that game the most points they have had this season. When up against an atrocious defense, the Giants can put up that many points and they are hoping that remains to be the case when they battle Washington, which is susceptible to giving up big plays. In fact, Washington has given up the most 40+ yards plays this season with six. It is also sixth in the NFL with 17 20+ yards plays surrendered. Daniel Jones went 20-of-33 for 222 passing yards in the loss to the Cowboys, but he and the team’s backfield moved the chains just enough for kicker Graham Gano to kick four field goals. The Giants’ pass rush could also see a big night in Week 6, as Washington’s offensive line is among the most porous in the league. Washington enters Week Sunday’s game with 21 sacks allowed – second-most overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Giants win, 23-20.
