Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (+1)
Regular Season Record: 1-1
After losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, 19-3, and losing Dak Prescott to injury in the same game, the Cowboys rebounded with a 20-17 home win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. Prescott is still injured, so it’s going to be Cooper Rush starting for Dallas this Sunday. He is not on Prescott’s level, but Rush can get the job done, and he will get the support of the Cowboys’ defense that just threw Cincy quarterback Joe Burrow to the ground six times. Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons already has four sacks this season. Looks like Giants QB Daniel Jones is about to absorb some more punishment after taking eight sacks in two games.
The Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games on the road.
Betting on the New York Giants (-1)
Regular Season Record: 2-0
The Giants are having success under new head coach Brian Daboll. After beating the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 on the road, 21-20, the Giants took down the Carolina Panthers at home in Week 2, 19-16. None of those Giants’ wins were pretty to watch, but they find a way to get the victory, and that’s all that matters for Daboll. With the Cowboys missing Prescott, the Giants’ defense should have an easier job cutting down to size the Cowboys’ attack that hasn’t been spectacular either this season. Offensively, Saquon Barkley is having a resurgence, and when he’s on top of his game, no defense can stop him.
The total has hit the Over in seven of the Giants’ last eight games in Week 3.
The Giants win, 20-17.
