Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (-3)

Regular Season Record: 3-5

Somebody stop Dalvin Cook. The Vikings’ running back is playing like he’s got a pact with the devil, as he’s rushed for 369 yards and five touchdowns in the last two Minnesota games. That includes the 206 rushing yards he stuffed down the throat of the Detroit Lions’ defense in a 34-20 win at home last Sunday. Regardless of the quality of Chicago’s defense, the Vikings have no choice but to keep riding the hot hands of Cook. The sudden outburst of Cook, however, has put his team’s passing attack in the backseat. Nevertheless, Kirk Cousins and company are ready to provide support for Cook. With Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and an emerging red-zone threat in Irv Smith, the Vikings can stretch Chicago’s defense and give Cook enough space to do his thing on the ground. The Ravens are third in the NFL with 160.4 rushing yards per game and tops with 5.5 yards per carry. They are embracing Cook as the leader of the offense and it’s working out fine for them.

The Vikings are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games.

Betting on the Chicago Bears (+3)

Regular Season Record: 5-4

Chicago’s regression continued in Week 9, where they dropped their third game in a row in a 24-17 road loss to the Tennessee Titans. Nick Foles passed for 335 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions but it took him 52 attempts on 36 completions. There was barely anything from Chicago’s run game to support Foles, with David Montgomery leading the team with just 30 rushing yards on 14 carries. You know that the Bears’ ground game was pathetic in that game when you see that linebacker Barkevious Mingo had 11 rushing yards. Chicago has to wake its backfield up, and it could do well against Minnesota’s defense that gave up 129 rushing yards on 27 carries (4.8 yards per carry) against the Lions. And Foles can be more efficient with his throws this time around, as Minnesota is just 29th in the league in total defense with 412.9 total yards allowed per game. The Vikings are also third-worst against the pass, as they are giving up 287.9 passing yards per game.

The under is 4-1 in the Bears’ last five games at home.
