The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to coast, as they still own the best record in the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars, on the other hand, are not having such a good time, as they are losing games one after another. But could they pull off a miracle this weekend?

2020 is going just fine for the Steelers. In fact, the Steelers remain undefeated through the first 10 weeks of the season after they decimated the hapless Cincinnati Bengals at home last Sunday in a 36-10 victory that saw Ben Roethlisberger and company cover their spread as 10-point favorites with ease. Big Ben capitalized in the Bengals’ banged-up secondary, as he went 27 of 46 for 333 passing yards and four touchdowns without an interception. Judging from Jacksonville’s defense, it seems that Roethlisberger is primed to have another huge passing performance. For one, the Jaguars are just 30th in the NFL with 283.9 passing yards allowed per game. Moreover, Jacksonville’s pass defense is ranked second-worst in terms of DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average). But the Steelers can just take this game with their defense. Pittsburgh is tops in the NFL in takeaways per game (1.9) and is also third in scoring defense with just 19.0 points allowed per game. The Jaguars’ offense has plenty of problems and those should be highlighted more when it runs against the Steel Curtain.
The Steelers are 3-1 against the spread in their last four road games.
Betting on the Jacksonville Jaguars (+10)
Regular Season Record: 1-8
If moral victories matter to the Jags, then they will always have their 24-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday to soothe their aching egos. The Jags were huge 13.5-point road underdogs against the Packers, but they were stubborn enough to keep in step with Aaron Rodgers and company from start to finish. The game was even tied at the end of the third quarter. Jake Luton went 18 of 35 for 169 passing yards and a touchdown with an interception, while rookie running back James Robinson single handedly took care of business on the ground, as he had all of the Jags’ 109 rushing yards on 23 carries. It’s hard to make a justification why the Jags can upset the Steelers in Week 11, but as we have seen against the Packers, Jacksonville can provide a surprise from time to time. In fact, the Jaguars have surpassed expectations of oddsmakers of late, as they are 2-0 against the spread in their last two games.
The Jaguars, who have a respectable 44.35 third-down conversion percentage on offense, are 3-2 against the spread in their last five games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Steelers win, 29-14.
