Betting on the Los Angeles Chargers (+6)

Justin Herbert is the real deal. The Chargers rookie quarterback took full advantage of the New York Jets’ lousy defense, as Herbert went 37 of 49 for 366 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception in a 34-28 home win last Sunday. It was the Chargers’ first win in four games, and it gives them a much-needed confidence booster heading into a game against the Bills. So far this season, Herbert has 2,699 passing yards and 22 touchdowns with only six interceptions. He’s also completed at least 67 percent of his passes in three of the last four Chargers games. Buffalo presents a challenge for Herbert, but the Bills’ defense is just 23rd in the league with opponents completing 67.87 percent of their passes. The Chargers’ offense could also get back a key weapon in time for the date with Buffalo, with running back Austin Ekeler seemingly on track to return to action soon from a stint on the injured reserve list.
The over is 4-0 in the Chargers’ last four road games.
Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-6)
Regular Season Record: 7-3
The Bills are coming off a bye, which gave them an extra time to heal from the wounds they sustained during a gut-wrenching 32-30 road loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10 — the one where Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins authored THAT game winning Hail Mary touchdown. Nevertheless, the Bills are having a nice season, with Josh Allen under center. Allen has become an MVP contender, as he’s recorded 2,871 passing yards and 21 touchdowns with seven interceptions on the season. He’s also rushed for 279 yards and five scores on 72 carries, so far. The Jets, who aren’t a great offensive team, were able to put up 28 points against the Chargers’ D, so the Bills, with a stacked receiving corps and a serviceable backfield tandem of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, are in line to pounce on Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Bills are 3-2 against the spread in their last five home games.
