The Miami Dolphins are currently in possession of the last spot of the playoffs in the AFC, but they still need things to go their way if they are to make the postseason. A win on Saturday against the Raiders would certainly help them, but will the Las Vegas Raiders trip Tua Tagovailoa and company up?

Betting on the Miami Dolphins (-3)
Regular Season Record: 9-5
It surely is a good time to be a Dolphins fan. Miami will finish the season with a winning record for the first time in four years, guaranteeing that with a 22-12 home win over the New England Patriots in Week 15, making things even sweeter. Miami leaned on its defense, as usual, and on the legs of running back Salvon Ahmed to deliver the goods for the Dolphins, who are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. The Patriots failed to score a touchdown, thus further improving the Dolphins’ average of 2.2 touchdowns allowed per game, currently the third-fewest in the NFL. The Dolphins also sacked Patriots quarterback Cam Newton three times. The Raiders could struggle in extending plays against this Miami defense that is also third in the NFL with opponents converting just 32.53 percent of their third downs against the Dolphins – No. 1 in the league.
The under is 2-0 in the Dolphins’ last two games at home.
Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (+3)
Regular Season Record: 7-7
It remains up in the air which quarterback the Raiders will have this coming Saturday. Derek Carr suffered a groin injury in Week 15’s 37-27 overtime loss at home to the LA Chargers, and is currently questionable to play, though he was able to participate in Tuesday’s practice, albeit in a limited capacity. The good thing for the Raiders is that they have one of the best quarterback insurance policies in the NFL today, as evidenced by Marcus Mariota’s solid fill-in job in the Chargers game. Mariota went 17-of-28 completions for 226 passing yards and a touchdown with an interception, while also rushing nine times for 88 yards and a touchdown. Mariota’s ability to run gives Las Vegas a different dimension on offense, which the Raiders could use to survive Miami’s defense. The Raiders are 11th in the NFL with 26.9 points per game.
The over is 4-1 in the Raiders’ last five games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Dolphins win, 24-22.
