Betting on the Arizona State Sun Devils (odds)
Record: 7-9 Overall / 4-6 Conference
Arizona State is 3-1 straight up in its last four games. In the Sun Devils’ most recent game, they defeated the Oregon State Beavers at home, 75-73 on Valentine’s Day. That’s a nice recovery for Arizona State, which lost to the Oregon Ducks on Feb. 11 in Tempe, 75-64. The Sun Devils shot just 42.6 percent from the field against Oregon State, but that was a much better effort for the team than in the loss to Oregon in which the Sun Devils went only 33.3 percent from the floor. The Sun Devils will be looking to avenge their 73-64 home loss to the Trojans back in January, and this time, Bobby Hurley’s team will have Remy Martin, Jaelen House, and Jalen Graham, who all missed the first meeting with USC due to various reasons. Arizona State is averaging 74.8 points per game and is allowing 76.6 points per contest.
The under is 4-1 in Arizona State’s last five road games.
Betting on the USC Trojans (odds)
Record: 17-3 Overall / 11-2 Conference
The Trojans will come into Wednesday’s rematch against Arizona State in great form. USC has been undefeated in its last six games. It is fresh off a 76-65 win on the road over the Washington State Cougars last Saturday. The Trojans also covered the spread in that game as 8-point road favorites to extend their cover streak to five games. In the first meeting with Arizona State, the Trojans relied on seven-footer Evan Mobley, who had 19 points and 13 rebounds to show the Sun Devils why he’s a first-round material in the NBA Draft. Mobley is averaging 16.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game this season. Speaking of rebounds, the Trojans are No. 1 in the Pac-12 with 39.1 rebounds per game. They outrebounded Arizona State in the January meeting between the two schools by a whopping margin of 20 boards, 50-30.
USC is 3-1 against the spread in its last four home games against the Sun Devils.
Writer’s Prediction
USC wins, 79-70.
