Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (+6.5)

Regular Season Record: 0-0

The Steelers made the postseason in 2021 with a 9-7-1 record, but exited the playoffs after just one game, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round. There are plenty of questions surrounding the Steelers going into the 2022 season, including in the quarterback position. Trubisky is installed as the no. 1 quarterback, but how much really do the Steelers trust him? In any case, the Steelers still have decent weapons on offense in running back Najee Harris and wide receivers Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. Johnson is questionable to play in Week 1, but if he misses time, rookie George Pickens will have a bigger chance to shine. On defense, the Steelers have TJ Watt, arguably the best defensive player in the NFL today, so he’ll be relied upon in trying to contain Cincy’s attack.

The Bengals went all the way to the Super Bowl last season, and while they failed to finish the job with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the grand finale, Joe Burrow and company gained tremendous confidence in themselves from that deep postseason run. Last season, the Bengals were ninth in the NFL with 26.3 points per game, as they were powered by an air attack that recorded 256.0 passing yards per game. Burrow passed for 4,611 yards to go with 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2021, while Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins each finished the campaign with 1,455 and 1,091 receiving yards, respectively. The offensive line should be better too with some veterans added to Burrow’s protection unit in the offseason.
