The Texas A&M Aggies could not sustain their momentum after their upset win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 4, as they absorbed a 42-24 defeat at the hands of the Mississippi State Bulldogs over the weekend on the road. That being said, that should not take away from the luster of their upcoming showdown with the Alabama Crimson Tide, who also walloped the Razorbacks on the road last Saturday, 49-26. Still undefeated and still looking terrifying, can Alabama continue rolling even if they won’t have Bryce Young in Week 6? Or will the Aggies stun the nation and take down Alabama in Tuscaloosa just as Johnny Manziel and company had 10 years ago? Check out our preview of this Texas A&M vs Alabama game in Week 6 of the 2022 college football season.

Betting on the Texas A&M Aggies (+24)
Record: 3-2 Overall / 1-1 Conference
Sloppy ball security led to the Aggies’ loss to Arkansas. Texas A&M had multiple opportunities inside the red zone, but turned the ball over four times – three occurred when the Aggies already reached the 20-yard line. All told, the Aggies had four turnovers off two interceptions and two lost fumbles. They can’t be that incoherent on the field next Saturday against Alabama on the road. Texas A&M could get a huge break though if Young gets ruled out in Week 6 after suffering a shoulder injury last Saturday. Obviously, Alabama’s offense can’t be as great as it can be if Young won’t be on the field for the Crimson Tide, and that’s definitely going to be huge plus for Texas A&M.
The Under is 4-1 in Texas A&M’s last five games.
Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (-24)
Record: 5-0 Overall / 2-0 Conference
Again, the biggest question for Alabama is whether Bryce Young will be able to play right away after hurting his shoulder and exiting Saturday’s win against Arkansas. If he can’t go, Alabama will turn to redshirt freshman Jalen Milroe, who went 4/9 for 65 rushing yards and a touchdown in the Arkansas game after Young left in the second quarter. He also rushed six times for 91 yards and a touchdown. In any case, Alabama will have running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who exploded for 206 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 18 carries versus the Razorbacks. The harsh truth for Alabama rivals is that the Crimson Tide can dominate opponents in a number of alternative ways when Plan A doesn’t seem to work. If Young isn’t going to be available, the Crimson Tide’s rushing attack and stout defense can still cause massive headaches to Texas A&M.
Alabama is 3-0 against the spread in its last three games.
Writer’s Prediction
Alabama wins, 40-14.
