Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview | NFL Week 5 – October 9, 2022

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain a one-win team after four weeks of football. They could have easily gone winless to date if some lucky bounces did not go their way in Week 1’s overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. Coming off a 24-20 home loss in Week 4 to the New York Jets, the Steelers look to snap their skid this week against the high-powered Buffalo Bills. The Bills got back up from a 21-19 road loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 by taking down the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday in Maryland 23-20. Check out our preview of this Steelers vs Bills game in Week 5 of the 2022 NFL regular season.

Betting Preview for the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills Week 5 Game on October 9, 2022

When: Sunday, October 9, 2022, 1:00 PM ET

Line: Pittsburgh Steelers (+14.0) vs Buffalo Bills (-14.0) – view all 2022 NFL lines

TV Broadcast: CBS

Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (+14.0)

Regular Season Record: 1-3

It’s time for the Steelers to start Kenny Pickett. The rookie quarterback had an up-and-down performance in Week 4 when he stepped in for the ineffective Mitchell Trubisky. Pickett went 10/13 for 120 passing yards and three interceptions, but he was able to rush for two touchdowns. Growing pains are going to be part of Pickett’s education in the NFL, but finally knowing that the starting gig under center is now his should have a positive impact on his psyche. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh’s defense will have to be at its sturdiest against Josh Allen and the Bills. Pittsburgh is tied for second in the NFL with five defensive interceptions and fourth in interception rate.

The Steelers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games in Week 5.

Bet on the Steelers

Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-14.0)

Regular Season Record: 3-1

Josh Allen passed for just 213 yards and a touchdown against an interception on 19/46 completions in the win over Baltimore, but he made the plays when it mattered the most to help Buffalo come back from a 17-point deficit in the first half. Allen also rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. In other words, Buffalo’s offense is extremely difficult to contain from start to finish, and the Steelers are likely to feel that in Week 5. For one, the Steelers are 24th overall in total defense (383.0 total yards allowed/game) and 26th against third-down conversion (45.31%).

The Bills are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
