The most important thing to know about the Bengals right now is that they will be without star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase on the field in the coming weeks, including in the Browns game. Chase is dealing with a hip injury and won’t be able to help his team againt the Browns. That said, Burrow sill has dangerous weapons downfield like Tyler Boyd, who led the Bengals in Week 7’s 35-17 home win over the Atlanta Falcons. Boyd had 155 receiving yards and a touchdown in that game. Tee Higgins, Hayden Hurst, and Joe Mixon will also have to step up for Cincy, which is eighth in the league with 24.7 points per game.
The Bengals are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games versus AFC teams.
Betting on the Cleveland Browns (+3.0)
Regular Season Record: 2-5
Like the Bengals, the Browns are also having an injury issue with a key component of their passing attack, with tight end David Njoku not looking good for Week 8. That said, the door is not completely shut on Njoku, so there is a slim chance he will be able to play against the Bengals. In any case, the Browns will always have their rushing attack lead the way on offense. Nick Chubb leads the NFL in both rushing yards (740) and rushing touchdowns (8). In their 23-20 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7, Chubb rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown. He can find a way to exploit the Bengals’ defense that is just 18th in the NFL with 119.0 rushing yards allowed per game.
The Over is 4-0 in the Browns’ last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bengals win, 24-21.
