The Cards are 4-0 in Lynn’s last four starts, including their 7-3 win against Cincinnati last August 20th. Lynn will match up with the Pirates’ Gerrit Cole’s (7-4, 3.69 ERA), whose last six starts have resulted into five wins for Pittsburgh.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles (7:05 PM ET)

After losing three-straight games, the Orioles responded with a 9-1 shellacking of Tampa Bay yesterday. That was the most runs they’ve put up since their 8-2 win last week against the White Sox. The win against Tampa Bay in the opener improved the Orioles’ record to 3-0 in their last three home games. The Rays, meanwhile, are 4-1 in Alex Cobb’s (9-6, 3.01 ERA) last five starts against Baltimore. They’ve also won in the last two games when the O’s start Wei-Yin Chen (13-4, 3.76 ERA).

Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays (7:07 PM ET)

With a 4-3 win last night against Toronto, the Red Sox finally stopped their losing streak at eight games. They’ll look to build on that momentum as they take on Blue Jays pitcher R.A. The Bronx Bombers will start one of the most reliable pitchers in their staff of late in tonight’s series opener versus Detroit. Including his days as an Arizona Diamondback, Brandon McCarthy’s (8-12, 4.01 ERA) teams are 4-1 in his last five road starts. The Tigers, meanwhile, are 4-1 in Rick Porcello’s (14-8, 3.10 ERA) last five home starts against New York.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants (10:15 PM ET)

Three-straight losses have brought the Giants on the brink of losing their grip of the National League’s second wild card position. San Francisco looks to get back on track when it starts Madison Bumgarner (14-9, 3.17 ERA). MadBum was sensational in his last start, striking out 12 in seven innings of work in the Giants’ 5-3 win against the Chicago Cubs last August 21st.
The Giants are 4-1 in Bumgarner’s last five home starts versus Colorado. Meanwhile, the Rockies, who are 3-0 in their last three games, will counter Bumgarner with Jorge De La Rosa’s (13-8, 4.21 ERA). The Rockies are 4-1 in De La Rosa’s (13-8, 4.21 ERA) last five starts against San Francisco.
