Record: 35-27
The Rays will look to salvage a win in this series. As of this writing, Tampa Bay doesn’t have a definite starter listed, but whoever takes the ball this Thursday for the Rays will be hoping for better run support. The Rays have scored just a total of three runs so far in the series, all coming in their 4-3 loss Wednesday night. There’s also some concern regarding the availability of outfielder Kevin Kiermaier for Thursday’s matchup after he left early from Wednesday’s contest because of an Achilles inflammation. His status should be monitored closely heading into tonight’s outing. Tampa Bay will look to beat Luis Severino again. In the first meeting this season with the Yankees starter, the Rays recorded four runs off him in a 4-2 win late last May.
The Rays are 16-5 in their last 21 Thursday games.
The Under is Under is 8-2-2 in the Rays’ last 12 games on Thursday.

The Yankees stay hot. With Nestor Cortes rebounding with a great performance on the mound and the team’s offense humming, the Yankees extended their win streak to six games with their victory Wednesday. Up next on the mound for the Yankees is Severino, who has regained his mojo since that aforementioned loss to the Rays. In two starts so far this month of June, Severino has allowed just an earned run on 8 hits with 20 strikeouts across 13.0 innings of action. Overall this season, he is 4-1 with a 2.80 ERA and 1.03 WHIP, plus he’ll be pitching in front of the Yankees’ offense that is leading the majors in wRC+ and wOBA.
