NFL Week 14 Line Movement

NFL Week 14 Line Movement

The St. Louis Rams and Houston Texans are coming off completely unexpected offensive explosions which powered blowout wins in Week 13. With both teams on the road this week against a couple of also-rans, how much will their big wins influence the line for their upcoming games? Let’s investigate along with all the other week’s line movement.

As is always the case, a game’s spread will fluctuate due to the public’s betting activity, which can often be influenced by a specific mismatch or injury in the matchup. But please bear in mind that the reasons for the line shift listed below are only educated opinions and do not reflect the actual thoughts of Top Bet’s linemakers.

With that out of the way, let’s get to the updated Week 14 lines, which you can bet on today if you create a betting account right now. And for more Week 14 coverage, check out what the experts think with their Week 14 picks right here.

NFL Line Movement for Week 14

Seattle Seahawks (PK) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (PK)

[sc:NFL240banner ]The public is back in on the Seahawks. It’s hard not to see why after seeing Seattle’s defense absolutely lock down playoff-caliber opposition in the Cardinals and 49ers, holding them to three points each. That defense is being backed to do a similar number with the Eagles and their top-five scoring offense.

However, the Eagles will be very tough to beat at home, where they’ve been on a terrific run. Counting the end of last season, Philadelphia is currently on a 10-game regular season home winning streak, covering all but two of those games.

Kansas City Chiefs (+1) vs. Arizona Cardinals (-1)

In a battle of teams suffering two-game losing streaks, the public has decided to side with the home team. Arizona is still unbeaten at home this season, and has covered five in a row. Plus, the Cards will likely have Larry Fitzgerald back after the star wideout missed both of their losses.

But the Chiefs are well-equipped to handle a Fitzgerald-led passing attack. They are allowing the fewest passing yards this season (197 yards per game), and will be desperate for a win to keep pace in a very crowded AFC wild card race.

St. Louis Rams (-3) vs. Washington Redskins (+3)

Line moved from Rams -1.5 – view all NFL lines

The St. Louis Rams are finishing their disappointing season on a high. Just ask the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders, who were demolished 52-0. The public has definitely taken notice, betting the Rams up to three-point favorites up from 1.5 against a Redskins team that is once again stumbling to the finish line.

But some Redskins players still have a lot to play for, specifically quarterback Colt McCoy, who’s playing for a possible starting job next season. McCoy threw for 392 yards and three touchdowns against the Colts last week and has actually led the team in its last two wins.

Houston Texans (-6) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (+6)

There was bound to be a significant public reaction after seeing Ryan Fitzpatrick throw six touchdown passes to lead the Texans to a blowout win over the Titans, and sure enough, the line for Houston has bumped up two points on the road at Jacksonville. Well, if there was ever a team Fitzpatrick could ever hope to repeat that performance against, it’s probably the Jaguars and their equally inept defense.

But don’t expect Fitzpatrick to be as unscathed as he was against the Titans, who managed no sacks and just three quarterback hits on him. The Jaguars have registered nine sacks and seven additional quarterback hits in the past two weeks, and will put Fitzpatrick under significantly more pressure.

New York Giants (-1) vs. Tennessee Titans (+1)

Line moved from Titans -1 – view all NFL lines

Despite having a slightly longer losing streak (seven to six),the public has shifted the line enough to make the New York Giants slight road favorites against the Tennessee Titans after opening as underdogs.

After seeing DeAndre Hopkins explode for a career-high 238 yards against the Titans secondary, the public probably figures electric Giants rookie Odell Beckham Jr. can have a similarly explosive impact.

But this is still a Giants team that conspired to throw away a 21-point lead against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars last week, a loss so bad that it’s legitimately time to question the team’s motivations with nothing left to play for this season.
