Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers (8:05 PM ET)

Line: Houston Astros (-108) at Texas Rangers (-102); total: 9.0 – view all MLB lines

[sc:MLB240banner ]Texas extended its division lead against Houston to 1.5 games with an emphatic 14-3 victory against the Astros on Wednesday night. The Rangers blitzed the Astros with five homers to grab their sixth consecutive victory against their division rivals. The Rangers will look to complete the series sweep when they take on the Astros in the final game of their four-game set tonight.

Pitching for the Rangers this evening is Colby Lewis (15-8, 4.45 ERA). He pitched a complete-game shutout on Friday, surrendering just two hits while striking out four in a 4-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics. That sterling performance came out of nowhere as Lewis compiled an 8.62 ERA and 2.04 WHIP during his three previous starts.

The Astros, on the other hand, will have Lance McCullers (17-7, 2.22 ERA) as their starter tonight. The Astros have lost four of their last five games with McCullers as their starter. He is 0-2 with a 4.97 ERA during this stretch. Mccullers has allowed 10.3 hits per nine innings during this five-game span.

The Rangers are 6-0 in their last six home games against the Astros.

Texas wins, 5-3.

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs (8:25 PM ET)

Line: Denver Broncos (+3) at Kansas City Chiefs (-3); total: 42.0 – view all NFL lines

Peyton Manning

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos will put their unbeaten records on the line when they lock horns at Arrowhead Stadium later tonight. The Chiefs are coming off an impressive 27-20 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 1. Alex Smith starred for Kansas City in that victory, completing 22 of 33 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns. The Chiefs’ defense played a huge part in that win as well, recording five sacks in that victory against the Texans.

They will fancy their chances against a Denver side that looked out of sorts in its Week 1 victory against Baltimore. The Broncos failed to score an offensive touchdown in their 19-13 victory over the Ravens. Peyton Manning finished with just 175 yards and his four sacks were his most since his emotional homecoming at Indianapolis in 2013.

The five-time MVP will take comfort in the fact, however, that he has fared extremely well against the Chiefs in the past. He has thrown for 1,736 yards with 16 touchdowns versus three interceptions in six meetings against the Chiefs since joining the Broncos in 2012.

The Broncos are 5-1 SU/ATS in their last six road games against the Chiefs.
