The Broncos are back to losing. After a win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 that snapped a five-game winless streak, the Broncos suffered an embarrassing 51-14 road loss to Baker Mayfield and the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16 last Sunday. But perhaps seeing the Chiefs again will light a fire under the demoralized Broncos. In the first meeting with Kansas City this season, Russell Wilson passed for 247 yards and three touchdowns with an interception on 23/36 completions, albeit in a 34-28 loss. Nevertheless, that’s the most points Denver has scored in a game this season, so there’s understandable optimism about what the Broncos can do on offense against the Chiefs.
The Broncos are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games overall.
Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5)
Regular Season Record: 12-3
The Chiefs are rolling. They are on a three-game win streak after beating the Seattle Seahawks at home last Saturday, 24-10. Kansas City doesn’t have to travel for this game against the Broncos, and it’s almost an unfair advantage for the Chiefs, who clearly are the better team than Denver. On the season, the Chiefs are second in the NFL with 29.2 points per game and No. 1 overall with 420.6 total yards per contest. Patrick Mahomes got intercepted three times but also threw for three touchdowns in the win over Denver. He’ll be more careful this time around, and that’s trouble for the Broncos.
The Chiefs are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games versus the Broncos.
