The Carolina Panthers did the impossible – they went 11-0 with a win over the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving. God’s team took one on the chin as God’s quarterback threw three picks. Tony Romo was god awful, we’ll admit it. If it wasn’t the broken bone that got him yanked from the game, it would’ve been Jason Garrett after a very likely fourth pick.
The question now, is can the Panthers run the table? The prop is up and it’s ready to roll:
Will the Carolina Panthers finish undefeated? (Regular Season 16-0)
In the month of December the Carolina Panthers have a few tests, but who are we kidding, the team looks unstoppable. For a look at who’s ahead and how the Black Cats will fair, read on. If’ you’d like to take a closer look at the team’s Week 13 matchup, click here.
[sc:Football ]Week 13 – at. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are a mediocre football. To be a great football team you need three things. A solid offense. A solid defense. And you need both of them to show up consistently. The Saints get some of them to show up every now and then. In fact, Rob Ryan just took the fall for the defense last week. He was let go as defensive coordinator.
Their D has been lackluster, their offense though has been the most consistently-inconsistent part all year. Entering December, Drew Brees had tossed 20 touchdowns and 10 picks. The good news for the Saints is that he’s only thrown three of those interceptions in his last five games. So the team is improving.
Writer’s Prediction: Carolina rolls along with a 35-21 win
Week 14 – vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are a very intriguing team. They jumped out to a great 5-0 start and a won six of their first seven games. However, since those seven games, the team has lost four in a row heading into the 12th month.
Matt Ryan has thrown 16 touchdowns and 12 picks. He’s also thrown five interceptions in his past two games entering December. Atlanta has gone from the best of times to the worst of times.
Writer’s Prediction: Carolina melts Matty Ice for the 39-14 win.
Week 15 – at New York Giants
The New York Giants are the best candidates on the Carolina Panthers remaining schedule to deliver the undefeated’s their first loss. The Giants came into December tied with the Washington Redskins at 5-6. The NFC East is one of the worst divisions out there, but it’s a dog fight for first because second just won’t make the cut. With that said, the NYG will have a fire in their bellies in Week 15.
Eli Manning threw 12 touchdowns and six picks in the month of November. However, in his final week he tossed three of those picks to the Washington Redskins in absolute clutch game. Manning hasn’t been like his usual self this season but also has had a pretty depleted group to work with.
Writer’s Prediction: New York Giants lose to Carolina 27-21.
Week 16 – at Atlanta Falcons
At this point, the Falcons will be trying to save their season after dropping a few more. The Falcons will need this game keep their slim playoff hopes alive. They’re at home. It’s a division rival. And they’re pissed about that Week 14 blowout.
The Falcons put it all together and play their game of the year. ATL fans leave the Georgia Dome happy and with a smile on their face…for a change.
Writer’s Prediction: The Falcons do it. ATL wins 24-21.
Week 17 – at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The novelty is now gone with the Panthers Week 16 loss, but the Bucs deliver the team their first losing streak of the year anyhow. Tampa Bay puts together a great performance. It’s all for nothing of course because Tampa Bay will be long out of the postseason by then. It’s a nice note to end the year on though.
Carolina enters the postseason with two blemishes to their name, but still a fantastic season altogether to look back on.
Writer’s Prediction: Tampa Bay wins 32-28.
