Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (+4.5)
Regular Season Record: 3-0
The Cardinals extended their win streak to three games this season by downing the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road last Sunday to the tune of a 31-19 score. Believe it or not, despite scoring over 30 points again, the Cardinals were not in their top form. Kyler Murray was not able to pass for a touchdown and was intercepted once. The Cardinals also rushed for just 91 yards on 30 carries. However, Arizona scored three rushing touchdowns and another via a pick-6 by Byron Murphy Jr. Arizona can have bad days and still find a way to score a win, and that’s scary for its opponents. The Rams have three wins as well, but they have not faced a quarterback with the dual-threat capabilities of Murray. Los Angeles will also have their hands full downfield against the trio of DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and a rejuvenated AJ Green, who led the Cards in Week 3 with 112 receiving yards on five catches.
The Cardinals are 2-5-2 against the spread in their last 19 road games.
Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (-4.5)
Regular Season Record: 3-0
The Rams must be feeling so good right now after defeating the reigning Super Bowl champions over the weekend. Behind Matthew Stafford’s arm, the Rams were able to take down Tom Brady and the Tampa Buccaneers in Week 3 at home, 34-24. Stafford went 27/38 for 343 passing yards and four touchdowns without an interception. Los Angeles can get back another key body in running back Darrell Henderson, who missed the Bucs game with a rib issue. Meanwhile, LA’s defense sacked Brady three times and allowed just one passing touchdown. Murray can extend plays out of the pocket, and he’s probably going to have a lot of running in this game because of injuries to the Cardinals’ offensive line. Justin Pugh is questionable and so are Justin Murray and Kelvin Beachum. Joshua Miles is also on the injured reserve. It could get ugly for Kyler Murray against the Rams, who have nine defensive sacks to date.
The Rams are 9-3-1 against the spread in their last 13 games as a home favorite.
Writer’s Prediction
The Rams win, 27-24.
