Game 1, Friday, July 20, 7:10PM

Starters: Dylan Bundy (6-9, 4.35 ERA) vs. Sam Gaviglio (2-3, 4.58 ERA)

Pitching:

Bundy bungled his last start, allowing five earned runs on five hits in four innings of a 9-0 loss at home to the Yankees. Prior to that, surrendered as many earned runs on nine hits in only 3.1 innings of a 6-2 loss in Minnesota. Bundy will look to rectify himself this Friday in Toronto. He is 3-4 with a 3.97 ERA in eight road starts. Gaviglio hasn’t had a good stretch in his last two starts either, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits in only five innings of action in total. He is 1-0 with a 1.97 ERA in seven appearances at home, including five starts.

Hitting:

  • Justin Smoak is 3-for-8 vs. Bundy.
  • Jonathan Schoop is 4-for-12 in his last three games.

Writer’s Prediction:

Toronto wins, 6-3.

Game 2, Saturday, July 21, 6:10PM

Starters: Alex Cobb (2-12, 6.41 ERA) vs. Marcus Stroman (2-7, 5.86 ERA)

Pitching:

In his most recent start, Cobb gave up two earned runs on six hits in 6.1 innings of a 5-4 loss at home to Texas. The Orioles have gone winless in eight of his last eight starts. Cobb is 3-4 with a 4.59 ERA in his career against the Blue Jays. Stroman will look to start his second half campaign the right way after getting tagged with three earned runs on five hits in a 5-2 loss to Boston at Fenway Park on July 15. The Blue Jays are 3-1 in Stroman’s last four starts against Baltimore.

Hitting:

  • Kevin Pillar is 4-for-12 against Cobb.
  • Jonathan Schoop is 5-for-21 vs. Stroman.

Writer’s Prediction:

Toronto wins, 6-4.

Game 3, Sunday, July 22, 1:10PM

Starters: Yefry Ramirez (0-3, 3.09 ERA) vs. J.A. Happ (10-6, 4.29 ERA)

Pitching:

The Orioles have only won once in Ramirez’s last five starts, but that sole victory during that stretch was in his last outing when he allowed just an earned run on two hits in 5.0 innings of a 1-0 home win on July 14. Happ, meanwhile, have gone 0-3 in his last three starts during which he allowed 13 runs. He is 6-4 with a 5.48 ERA in 11 starts at home.

Hitting:

  • Yangervis Solarte hit .241 and had 16 home runs in the first half of the season.
  • Caleb Joseph is 4-for-11 vs. Happ.

Writer’s Prediction:

Baltimore wins, 5-4
