Best College Football Teams to Bet On – Week 11

The Colorado State Rams saw their ATS winning streak as underdogs get snapped but are in great position to continue a different one. Meanwhile, teams from the relatively weak Conference USA like North Texas and Marshall have certain ATS bettors visiting the payout window quite often.

Top Bet’s Best College Teams To Bet for Week 11

Team Trend
Wisconsin Badgers 7-1 ATS overall
North Texas Mean Green 4-0 ATS at home
Auburn Tigers 3-0 ATS away
Colorado State Rams 4-0 ATS after a loss
Marshall Thundering Herd 4-0 ATS as home favorites

1. Wisconsin Badgers

Trend: 7-1 ATS overall

Next Game: vs. BYU Cougars – November 9 | 3:30 PM ET

The Badgers’ four-game ATS winning streak was halted when they failed to cover their 6.5-point spread as underdogs in a 31-24 loss to Ohio State last September. But three games later, it appears that that ATS loss was just a minor bump for Wisconsin’s spread bettors. The Badgers mounted three consecutive wins against Northwestern, Illinois, and Iowa, respectively, following the loss to the Buckeyes. All of which are ATS wins, bringing their total to 7-1 ATS this season – among the best in the nation.

2. North Texas Mean Green

Trend: 4-0 ATS at home

Next Game: vs. UTEP Miners– November 9 | 3:30 PM ET

After losing three of their first five games, the Mean Green recovered from their slump just in time to make four straight wins, including their latest against erstwhile Conference USA West leader, Rice (28-16). [sc:NCAA240banner ]

That win improved North Texas’ record to 6-3 SU overall. Four of those victories were at home, where the Mean Green have been tough to beat. In fact, they are 4-0 SU and ATS in four games at Apogee Stadium.

Nevertheless, defense has been killing it for North Texas. The team holds opponents down to 19.9 points a game (20th in FBS). They allowed no more than 16 points in their last four games. Those stats look like a bad omen for North Texas’ next opponent – UTEP. The Miners are 0-3 SU and ATS in their last three road games.

3. Auburn Tigers

Trend: 3-0 ATS away

Next Game: vs. Tennessee Volunteers– November 9 | 12:00 PM ET

No. 11 Auburn has played three games on the road, all of them against Top 25 teams, and emerged as the winner twice – against Ole Miss (30-22) and Texas A&M (45-41) – while losing to LSU (21-35) in their first trip away from home. Still, the Tigers are a clean 3-0 ATS on the road this season and are coming off an easy 35-17 win in Arkansas, where they covered their 8.5-point spread as faves. They’ll bring their high-octane running game to Knoxville on Saturday to see if Tennessee can stop the sixth best running game (306.2 per game) in the FBS.

But it seems very unlikely for the Volunteers to keep Auburn off their vaunted running game as they allow 217 rushing yards a game. Their porous defense was on full display in Tennessee’s last game, during which it allowed Missouri to run for 339 yards.

4. Colorado State Rams

Trend: 4-0 ATS after a loss

Next Game: vs. Nevada Wolf Pack– November | 9 3:30 PM ET

The Rams lost for the first time as ATS underdogs this season when they failed to cover the seven points spread in their loss to Boise State last week, 30-42. But before you think Colorado State is no longer a hot ATS team, take a look at another one of its standout ATS trends: The Rams are 4-0 ATS after a loss.

5. Marshall Thundering Herd

Trend: 4-0 ATS as home favorites

Next Game: vs. UAB Blazers – November 9 | 12:00 PM ET

Spread bettors have struck gold betting on the Thundering Herd when the team is a home favorite. Despite a large 32-point spread in their last game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, Marshall still found a way to cover. They go up against another pitiful team in UAB, which has lost four of its last five games ATS.

Marshall is 13th in the scoring in FBS, registering 40.9 PPG. It seems like the Thundering Herd are going to have a field day running around Joan C. Edwards Stadium on Saturday, since the Blazers are generously giving up 38.4 points a game.
