New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (May 9, 7:00 PM EST)

Line: New York Rangers (+1.5) at Pittsburgh Penguins (-1.5); total: 5.0 – view all NHL lines

[sc:NHL240 ]After getting shut out in successive games, the Rangers offense finally broke through with two goals in Game 4, but the trio of Rick Nash, Brad Richards and Martin St. Louis still has a combined one point in the series. New York now faces an elimination game in Pittsburgh, where they are just 2-6 in their last eight visits.

The Penguins duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are in fine form after each posted multi-point games in Game 4. The two have helped build a huge 54-shot advantage over the Rangers this series. The Pens are undefeated in seven playoff games that end in regulation. For a more thorough breakdown of this game, you can read our Game 5 preview between the Rangers and Penguins.

Writer’s Prediction

Take the Penguins on home-ice to win Game 5 and the series.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Clippers (May 9, 10:30 PM EST)

SPO-BKN-THUNDER-CLIPPERS

Line: Oklahoma City Thunder (+4) at Los Angeles Clippers (-4); total: 214.0 – view all NBA lines

The Thunder duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were magnificent in Game 2, each going for over 30 points and 10 rebounds. Westbrook also tallied his third triple-double in his last five games. When those two are on their game, it’s hard to see anyone on LA to stop them. OKC is 3-1 SU/ATS in its last four road games vs. the Clippers.

Meanwhile, the Blake Griffin (15 points on 5-for-13 shooting) and the Clippers will be looking to bounce back from a subpar offensive game in Game 3 at home. The Clippers are averaging 120 PPG at Staples Center in the postseason, with the total going over in all four games. Check out our comprehensive Game 3 preview here.

Writer’s Prediction

Expect a lot of scoring at Staples Center in Game 3. Take the over.
