The surging San Antonio Spurs hope to push their impressive winning streak past the weekend as they travel to the Roaracle to face the Golden State Warriors. The Grizzlies’ home winning streak will also be on the line against a Pacers team that’s suddenly looking suspect on the road.
[sc:MarchMadness ]San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors (March 22nd, 10:30 PM EST)
Betting on the San Antonio Spurs
[sc:NBA240banner ]With their full squad now healthy, San Antonio is looking like the team to beat out West. The Spurs have now won eleven straight games and 14 of their last 15. They’ve also gone 11-4 ATS, and have covered the last five games in a row; the most recent three were 17.5, 15, and 13 point spreads.
The Spurs offense has been clicking on all cylinders in March, where they’re averaging 115 points per game, a full 10 points better than their season average. During this winning streak, the Spurs have also won by a sizable 15 points per game.
Betting on the Golden State Warriors
After some home hiccups early in 2014, the Golden State Warriors are once again looking formidable at the Oracle. The Warriors are 8-2 SU (6-4 ATS) in their last 10 home games. They bounced back from a shock defeat to the Cavs by taking care of the Magic and Bucks in the first two games of their five-game home stand.
Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been in sizzling form as of late, each posting 20 or more points in their last three games – all wins. They combined for 60 points and six made threes against the Bucks.
Prediction
It’s hard to see the Spurs slipping up given how exceptionally well they’re playing. Even with Curry and Thompson playing well, the Spurs have more weapons and will run out as comfortable winners.
Indiana Pacers vs. Memphis Grizzlies (March 22nd, 8:00 PM EST)
Betting on the Indiana Pacers
The Pacers’ road woes continued when they lost to the re-invigorated New York Knicks at Madison Garden. Indiana is a mediocre 4-6 SU in its last ten road games, but is an alarming 1-9 ATS after failing to cover against Eastern minnows Milwaukee, Boston and Philadelphia.
Paul George had another dreadful shooting night against the Knicks, going just 4-17 from the field and 2-9 from beyond the arc. George is shooting a dreadful 30% from threes in March and 40% overall.
Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies
The Grindhouse is (sort of) back. The Grizzlies are once again dominant on their home floor, winning eight straight and nine of their last 10 at the FedEx Forum. However, instead of using their trademark defense to grind out games, the Grizzlies are using their new-found offense to beat visiting teams.
Memphis is averaging 102 points per game in its last 10 home games, six points better than its season average. The star trio of Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley has combined to score 57 points per game in the Grizzlies’ last four home games. The over is 8-2 in their last 10 home games.
Prediction
The Pacers couldn’t have asked for a worse place to visit right now, with the Grizzlies playing like the Western Conference finalists they were last year. Memphis pushes its home winning streak to nine games as more questions begin to be asked in Indiana.
