Opening proceedings this afternoon is the showdown between the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays. Following shortly thereafter is the clash between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays (1:07 PM ET)

Things are going from bad to worse for the Baltimore Orioles as they dropped their fifth consecutive game Saturday with an embarrassing 9-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. The O’s will look to get their season back on track and regain the AL East lead from the aforementioned Blue Jays when they lock horns in their series finale later today.Pitching for Baltimore in this critical matchup is Chris Tillman (14-3, 3.47 ERA). Rogers Centre has been tough for the right-hander, who has posted a 7.94 ERA there in 11 career starts, allowing a 1.019 OPS and 19 homers. This will be Tillman’s first start in Toronto this season. He owns a 3.12 ERA on the road in 2016.
The Blue Jays, on the other hand, will have Aaron Sanchez (11-1, 2.72 ERA) as their starter tonight. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in seven consecutive starts and nine of 10 dating back to the month of June. Sanchez also has won 10 consecutive decisions and leads the American League in quality starts with 16.
The Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 home games against the Orioles.

Starting for the St. Louis Cardinals in the final game of this four-game set is Carlos Martinez (10-6, 2.87 ERA). He was solid in his last start, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out three through five innings to earn the victory Tuesday against the New York Mets. Martinez has now won his last three starts and has posted a 3.00 ERA in 24 innings this month. The Puerto Plata native has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in seven of his last eight starts.
The Marlins, on the other hand, will counter with Andrew Cashner (4-7, 4.76 ERA). The right-hander will be taking the mound in a Miami uniform for the first time today. Cashner has been superb of late, going 1-0 with a 2.55 ERA in his last three starts for the San Diego Padres. He has been solid this month of July, posting a 31:8 K:BB in 26.1 innings.
The Cardinals are 6-1 in their last seven road games against the Marlins.
