It’s payback time for Michael Wacha. After taking his first loss of the season, Wacha (7-1, 2.27 ERA) looks to avenge his lone loss when he faces the Dodgers anew tonight at Chavez Ravine. In his most recent start, Wacha tossed five scoreless innings before getting roughed up by the Dodgers in the sixth inning, wherein he allowed four earned runs in St. Louis’ 5-1 loss on May 30. The Dodgers, meanwhile, will counter Wacha with converted starter, Carlos Frias, who was the winning pitcher of that game. Frias (4-2, 4.29 ERA) allowed just five hits and no runs over seven innings of mound duty to lead LA to victory. The Cards are 7-0 in Wacha’s last seven starts. The Dodgers are 3-1 in their last four home games against St. Louis.
Writer’s Prediction
St. Louis wins, 5-3.
