Line: Cleveland Cavaliers (+2.5) vs. Oklahoma City (-2.5); total: 203.5 – view all NBA lines
After a shaky start to the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers (13-7) appeared to have finally turned the corner. By beating the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night, the Cavaliers have extended their win streak to eight games and have successfully climbed onto the top of the Central Division.
[sc:NBA240banner ]Kevin Love has been playing superb during that stretch, averaging 18.8 PPG and 10.1 RPG to give a tremendous support to LeBron James (24.8 PPG) and Kyrie Irving (20.8 PPG). The Cavaliers will go up against fellow title contenders in the Oklahoma City Thunder (8-13). The Thunder also have had an ugly early season ride but the return of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook from injuries have prompted them to rack up wins, too. The Thunder are now 3-0 in their last three games after beating the Milwaukee Bucks, 114-101, last Tuesday.
Writer’s Prediction
Cleveland wins, 103-101.
Houston Rockets vs. Sacramento Kings (10:30 PM ET)
Line: Houston Rockets vs. Sacramento Kings – view all NBA lines
The Rockets’ (16-5) four-game win streak ended last night, when they got pummeled by the Golden State Warriors, 105-93. Despite James Harden’s 34-point output, the Rockets visibly missed the services of Dwight Howard, who continues to be absent because of a knee injury. Howard won’t be in the lineup again tonight so expect another heavy scoring load for Harden.
The Kings (11-11), meanwhile, are also going to play without their star big man in DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins hasn’t played in seven games due to illness (viral meningitis). The Kings are coming off a 98-95 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers last Tuesday. The Rockets are 3-0 ATS in their last three games against Sacramento, while the Kings are 5-5 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Houston wins, 105-95.
