[sc:MultiSportArticles ]Dallas Mavericks vs. Toronto Raptors (7:30 PM ET)
Line: Dallas Mavericks (+4) at Toronto Raptors (-4); total 209.0 – view these lines
[sc:NBA240banner ]The Mavs eked out a 109-102 overtime win over New York on Wednesday. Powered by big man Tyson Chandler’s 17 points and 25 rebounds, the Mavs dominated the paint where they outscored the Knicks, 50-24. Meanwhile, Dirk Nowitzki carried Dallas on his shoulders with 30 points on 11-of-24 shooting, but only went 1-for-8 from downtown. Nowitzki missed two of Dallas’ last three games against Toronto, with the Mavericks losing all of them.
While the Mavs are powered by dominant big men, the Raptors have scored the second-most points (108) in the league due to dominant backcourt play. Coming off the bench in a 126-115 win at Atlanta, shooting guard Lou Williams and point guard Greivis Vazquez had 22 and 21 points respectively. Meanwhile, starting shooting guard DeMar DeRozan led the way with 27 points. A deep set of guards may be what the Raptors need to outpace the Mavs’ big men. Toronto scored 25 fast break points en route to their 11-point win against Atlanta.
The Raptors are 9-1 at home this season. Read our complete preview of this game here.
Writer’s Prediction
The Raptors will be too fast for Dallas’ big men. Take Toronto to win and cover -4.
Sacramento Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs (8:30 PM ET)
Line: Sacramento Kings (+9) at San Antonio Spurs (-9); total 194.5 – view these lines
Since losing to the Sacramento Kings 94-91 on November 15, the Spurs have won five straight games, going 4-1 ATS along the way. Manu Ginobili led San Antonio to their fifth-straight win with 28 points in a 106-100 win over the Indiana Pacers last night.
Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard may find more open looks with Sacramento’s Rudy Gay (Achilles tendon) and Darren Collison (quad contusion) dealing with injuries. DeMarcus Cousins should still be a dominant presence on the Kings frontcourt, however. He shot 42.3 percent in the last five matchups against the Spurs. Meanwhile, Omri Casspi has proven to be a solid replacement for Gay in the starting lineup, averaging 18 points on 60.9 shooting in the past two games.
The Spurs have won the last four meetings in San Antonio.
Writer’s Prediction
The Spurs extended their win streak at the expense of the short-handed Kings. Create a betting account now get your daily dose of sports betting action.
